The Perfect Shoe For Summer

Let me tell you about a shoe that will make you look dapper no matter what outfit you are wearing. This shoe is the deck shoe, also known as the boat shoe. The deck shoe is a very classic American shoe that makes a statement, a very dapper style statement.

The deck shoe was created for use on boats but looks great for many occasions. The modern deck shoe was created in the 1930’s by Paul Sperry when he noticed how easily his dog was able to maneuver over ice and water on the boat deck. This event inspired Sperry to use a knife and fashion his shoe soles for perfect boating.

Over time, the deck shoe became very popular and was a commonly used shoe worldwide for boating purposes and everyday use. Deck shoes are made to be worn without socks and they can be mismatched
with many different outfits–making them essential to a dapper man’s wardrobe. One of the most notable wearers of these shoes was president John F. Kennedy who was often photographed wearing his Top Siders while on vacation.

Deck shoes are very comfortable and easy to put on and remove. They also come in many different styles and colors. I have several pairs of deck shoes in my wardrobe with my Lacoste’s being my favorite pair. Deck shoes are very comfortable and are the perfect shoe when traveling in hot weather. It doesn’t matter what color of deck shoes have because they are stylish and stand out with any color. Just pick whatever colors you like and you’re sure to look good.

If you want a nice classic look, I would match your deck shoes with some nice khakis shorts and a seersucker button-down shirt. If you really want to make a statement you can wear your deck shoes with khaki pants and a dress shirt.

If you’re going to go the pants route, remember that deck shoes do not look good with baggy jeans so try to avoid that by any means. It’s best to wear these shoes with slimmer fitting jeans that with a shorter inseam that you’re accustomed to. You want to see a little ankle when you wear these. Also, it is best to wear deck shoes in the summer and spring and to avoid wearing them during the winter and fall seasons.

Deck shoes range in price from $40 on up. Obviously, the higher end shoes can be found at most department stores. They are a very affordable shoe for anyone that wants a dapper shoe but the more you spend on your shoe, the more quality you will receive.

I would advise all men to have at least two pairs of deck shoes in the wardrobe–one light and one dark color. Shoes are a very important part to a man’s wardrobe because they are the first thing women notice about you. Make sure you give yourself more options by having some dapper deck shoes in your closet.
