We cannot always wear tennis shoes and we have to switch it up at times. Only having tennis shoes in your closet simply does not cut it. We should have a wide variety of different types of shoes at our disposal for whatever the occasion calls for. Let us here at John Dapper give you some dapper shoe recommendations to help you expand your wardrobe.

Wingtips:

The wingtip shoe is a timeless style that will always make you look and feel like a million bucks. Luckily, wingtips are making a strong comeback for the year 2012 and there are plenty of stylish and affordable options available. Wingtips are making a strong comeback due to their bold colors that can complement many different outfits. Most wingtips are made in leather, but the new hip style is suede. The beauty about wingtips is that you can dress up or dress down with these shoes. You can wear your wingtips in the workplace for a professional look with a suit, or you can wear them with some nice chino’s when you go out with the guys for a few drinks.

The Chukka:

The Chukka is a shoe that is not seen too often. It doesn’t take much effort to wear the chukka shoe and it practically goes with everything, except shorts. Don’t ever try to wear these shoes with shorts unless it is a chukka tennis shoe. The chukka is an ankle height shoe/boot that comes in mainly leather or suede and only has 2-4 eyelets to lace up. The chukkas look dapper with jeans, chino’s, or khakis.

Recommended Brand: SILAS x George Cox

Loafers:

These are a light and very comfortable shoe but can be a little tricky to pull off if you’re not used to wearing them. Your best bet is to wear them with a suit, jeans, or khakis. Loafers can be worn with shorts, but they need to be the right kind of shorts. These will look most dapper with shorts that come down to your knees or an inch higher–nothing less and nothing more. Loafers can be worn with or without socks and every dapper man needs a pair of loafers in his closet.

Recommended Brand: Moncler

Deck Shoe:

If you like going to the beach or love making a style statement, the deck shoe is for you. The deck shoe was originally made to be worn around water, so if that fits into your lifestyle, the deck shoe will come in handy. These shoes are very light, comfortable, and extremely easy to put on or take off. The deck shoe is a great shoe to have in your wardrobe and look great with shorts, board shorts, fitted jeans, and khakis.

Leather Sandals:

Summer time is fast approaching and it’s time to air out your toes. Buy yourself some leather sandals for extremely hot days and when you do not want to wear shoes. Leather sandals will look dapper with fitted jeans, shorts, or khakis. When you wear leather sandals you’re also making a dapper statement. Just be sure to maintain your feet nice and clean when wearing these because women will notice!
