Just one week after Facebook’s IPO, Mark Zuckerberg is announcing that Facebook will attempt to enter the smartphone market…again. The “Facebook Phone” is currently being developed by ex-Apple employees and will run on the Android operating system. This is the third attempt the company will make at entering the mobile market after twice unsuccessfully generating enough sales revenue to remain relevent in the smartphone business. The news of the phone sent shock waves through Wall Street and shares plummeted to 24% less than it’s opening, costing Mr. Zuckerberg an estimated $4.2 billion dollars. I guess not everybody “likes” this idea.
