The revolution WILL be televised! OUYA is a new gaming console for your TV that is powered by the Android operating system. It’s currently in the development stages but they’ve set up a Kickstarter account to hopefully get the ball rolling on this interesting project. The main idea behind OUYA is to leave it open sourced, like certain software, for developers to have access to the open design in order to produce their own games. This technology will also take advantage of everything a TV has to offer and the interface will come in one beautiful, inexpensive package. Best of all, the games will be FREE!

This could change the “game” forever.

Ok, the name looks silly, but that didn’t stop Nintendo from selling Wiis to everyone and their grandmothers. I think this looks pretty cool plus it’s indie. You get so much hipster cred for checking this out.
The name is pretty weird but like you said: it’s indie. I would love to have an open source platform because the possibilities will be endless.
Good one!
