Whiskey manufacturer Ballantine’s has collaborated with fashion technology brand Cutecircuit to develop one of the most unique t-shirts we’ve ever seen. Titled tshirtOS, the digital t-shirt provides the wearer with an original canvas of personal expression that is programmed via an iOS app. You can literally make the shirt say whatever you want and it’s the world’s first wearable, sharable, and programmable tee. The t-shirt is constructed of 100% cotton and has a built-in microprocessor with a 32″x32″ LED display. The shirt also features a tiny camera, microphone, speaker, and even an accelerometer–all controlled wirelessly through your iPhone. Although not much information about pricing or availability has been made available, Ballantine’s and Cutecircuit have put together an interesting video that explains the concepts behind the shirt and demonstrates how it works. The two companies seem to strongly believe in the power of personal expression and hope to make tshirtOS available for everyone to enjoy very soon.
